Walmart files plans for new Supercenter at 151st and Yale in Bixby

Walmart has filed an application to build a new Supercenter at the northwest corner of 151st Street and Yale Avenue.

Overview

The site spans approximately 27 acres of wooded land between Yale and Kimberly Clark Place, just south of the White Hawk Golf Villas neighborhood and west of the former White Hawk Golf Course. Frisbie Lombardi Commercial Real Estate Services listed the property at $2,995,500. According to a letter Walmart sent to the Oklahoma Department of Transportation, the company is under contract to purchase the property.

Site plans show a 182,269-square-foot store with grocery, general merchandise, a garden center, a drive-thru pharmacy and an auto service center. The store would also have a 10,000-square-foot fulfillment center for pickup and delivery orders.

A preliminary plat filed with the application splits the property into those three lots. In addition to the parcel for the store, a Walmart fuel station is planned at the corner of 151st and Yale. A 1.12-acre outlot along Yale is being set aside for a future user.

The plans line up with Walmart’s “Store of the Future” design. The company opened its first new-construction store under that model in Cypress, Texas, in April 2025, and has said it plans to build or convert more than 150 stores to the format. The Cypress store has a fuel station, a drive-thru pharmacy, expanded pickup and delivery, and digital shelf labels throughout.

The store would have 747 parking spaces, with entrances off 151st, Yale and Kimberly Clark Place.

The property is currently zoned for a mix of commercial, duplex and single-family uses. In its application to the City of Bixby, Walmart is asking for a planned unit development over the property. The underlying zoning would stay the same.

Mitigations under the PUD include a 100-foot buffer between the store and the homes to the north, a six-foot screening fence and a row of trees along the property line.

Walmart told ODOT in August that it needs a traffic signal at 151st and Kimberly Clark Place in order to complete the project.

“Unfortunately, the project will not be viable if the signalized intersection is not approved at this intersection,” wrote Ivan Jaime, Walmart’s director of government and public affairs, in a letter to ODOT.
